  • Abstract:
  • Team skills are recognised as a strategic corporate asset. Yet skill development is still not well understood by many managers, who often think it just means sending of staff training and acquiring some know-how. Skills cannot be reduced to mere know-how and there are several means open to you to develop them. Moreover, before considering developing skills, you must plan out the current and future skill requirements of your team in order to make the right choice. This is the approach adopted in this training: it offers you tools to assess and select the skills to be developed in your team depending on the company’s strategic goals. It also provides you with a multitude and variety of tools to develop the selected skills: delegating, feedback, individual coaching. All these management techniques have been dealt with in this programme with a view to skills development: how to make these techniques a learning aid, what traps to avoid. Training is certainly one of the recommended means but cannot be carried out under just any conditions. This programme explains how to prepare your training projects and monitor them to ensure optimum results. Lastly, one of the strong points of this training is that it shows how the various daily practices of the company can contribute to skill development if more thought is given to their organisation.
